I found out a week ago.
Partners in Necessity, omnibus of the first three Liaden novels, is going out of print.
"Noooo!" I cried. Then bought a copy on ebay. Then ordered online a copy each of the actual books in the omnibus, to keep as backup/loaner copies. Then went to Pandemonium and bought the remaining books in trade.
The lovely lady at Pandemonium, with the shirt that made me laugh out loud ("Aren't you a little short to be an Imperial Auditor?") told me even worse news. The ACE editions of the books, the new reissues with the pretty covers, are also going out of print! The horror! The horror!!!
(It's the first trilogy, which is in danger. That's
Conflict of Honors,
Agent of Change, and
Carpe Diem.)
So, if you have read and loved these books, BUY THEM NOW! Your chance is passing!
If you have never read these books, and you don't hate science fiction, you should buy them now and read them and love them. (You know that I don't normally go rabid and froth at the mouth and tell people they must buy things, so trust me on this. I have yet to encounter anyone who has read one of these books and not gotten completely hooked on the series.)
( Read more... )The library also has about two complete sets, but I doubt that that will last now that Partners is going for upwards of $75 online.
Act now!
