Gaian Mind

Okay, my brain is starting to work. A bit.

Gaian Mind was awesome. If I had known that there was a way that I could spend a bunch of days dancing half-naked in the woods to good music with a bunch of dirty freaks, I would have done it a lot sooner.

I'm going to make multiple posts about this, but for now:

- Dancing outside, in the sunlight, under trees, is really awesome. Read more... )

- Being in a space where it's okay for women to go topless is really awesome. Read more... )

- If anybody came up with natural bugspray/sunscreen with glitter in it, you could make millions off this community. Seriously. Read more... )

- Flush toilets are pretty exciting, and so are non-inflatable beds. Read more... )

There are also lots of pictures coming up - I brought the digital with us.

It's actually hotter here than it was there. Or maybe it's just that the air is more close inside the house. I think I might have to have ice cream for breakfast.

Check them out:

I didn't edit them (except for turning them rightside up, if applicable). I'm kind of anal about picture editing, so this is the only way you would get to see them this month.

Happy happy!

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] bbbsg very reasonably points out that these might not be work safe. I guess it kind of depends where you work. If that sounds worrymaking to you, wait till later...

Okay, so apparently there is a psytrance outdoor dancing event coming up in Boston in a month.

Here's the link:

Having had such a wonderful time at Gaian Mind, I'd love to go. Anyone else interested?

So, I recently picked up a flyer about forensic mysteries at Medford Public Library. I enjoy watching CSI, and thought, "Why not?" I took out some books that were on their list. One of them was A World the Color of Salt by Noreen Ayres.

In the same week, I was also given the first volume of XXXenophile by [livejournal.com profile] 7j (also known as the cute butch grrl, for those of you who are following along at home). Interesting combination, let me tell you.

I've also just started a recommendation from [livejournal.com profile] ceelove, The Impossible Will Take a Little While, and I'm still loving Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge.

So, someone cool on my Friends list recently posted something about a petition that suggests the US use one percent of its budget for foreign aid, education, and other good stuff.

I have looked. I can't find it. (Although I did find a page talking about how the government shouldn't do foreign aid because we're generous enough already... sigh.) Googling was unsuccessful, so was surfing the journals of the people I thought it might have been. Can whoever posted it post the link again, in the comments?

Thanks a bunch.
