While I was decluttering under the dining room coffee table, something I have been putting off for years (it's just so convenient to shove stuff under there when cleaning up!), I found a laptop cooler that I bought some years ago for a previous laptop, which turns out to be just the thing for my cranky, prone-to-overheating HP Pavilion. The last time I'd found it I had tried to use it and couldn't, thought maybe it was broken, maybe I should get rid of it. This time, I was smart enough to notice the power switch. *facepalm*

I really need a tech icon.

What a great find. I was going to comment on your previous post about your new netbook.

I bought a refurbished Dell mini (I love that it's called a Mini). It's a lil netbook with a 10 inch screen and they did a great job with the keyboard on this one too. They clearly put a lot of thought into what the keys should be used for and where to place them. (For example, you control the volume and the screen brightness from function keys. You need to press CNTRL to get a regular F4.)

Um, anyway, glad you are loving your netbook. I think they are teh awesome.

Thanks for commenting! The Dell Mini was my other front-runner. I think the Ubuntu install would have been easier on that. But I'm happy with how the netbook is going. The only thing that bugs me is minor - the right-hand Shift key is half an inch further away than I expect it to be, so I keep pressing the "PageUp" key (which I could have generally done without) instead.
