It's been several weeks since I knitted or crocheted for more than a few moments at a time.

(I know. You're saying, "Who are you? What have you done with Honey?" But it's true.)

I just don't feel inspired right now. Plus, I have been sooo busy. It doesn't leave me a lot of psychic space to get through the beginning stages of my projects and into my groove, when I already have things planned out and understand all the stitches, so I no longer have to devote much brainpower to going forward.

I've been encountering a lot of neat new ideas (toe-up socks! socks on two circs! scrumbling!) but haven't gotten off the ground floor with any of them.

I still haven't decided what to do with that gorgeous orchid cotton-tencil. I'm seriously thinking about the butterfly shawl, though.

Scrumbling? Wow! I don't know what it is, but when you do get up the oomph to try a new project, I think it should be scrumbling. *nod*

But yeah, I know what it feels like to not be able to do the hobbies you usually love for a while. It's kind of strange and disorienting, to me. It will come back.

I think where you're at isn't that unusual - I know that the more planning I'm doing with things that require my current-time energy, the less available energy I have to actually plan out projects.

I tend to keep three going at a time - one or two that are pretty simple, the other is my "challenge" project. That way if I just have fifteen minutes of boredom to kill, I can grab a simple one; if I want to immerse myself in the yarn or the pattern, I pick a more complex project to work on.
