Title: Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
Author: Seth Grahame-Smith
Genre: Alternate history, fantasy.
Setting: The United States during the life of Abraham Lincoln.
Reason for Reading: There are two. First, I loved Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and second, I attended a reading of this (second on the book tour!) and really enjoyed it.
Finished In: Days
Pages: 336
Copyright Date: 2010
Cover: The great man looks off into the distance. There is a bloody handprint on the front of his jacket, and a bloody ax peeks out from behind his back.
First line: "Facts: 1. For over 250 years, between 1607 and 1865, vampires thrived in the shadows of America. Few humans believed in them."
Best part: I couldn't tell where history left off and fantasy began.
Worst part: Though I knew it was asking a lot, it wasn't as funny as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Imaginary Theme Song: "John Brown's Body"
Grade: C+. I liked it very well but once was enough.
Recommended for: Fans of Lincoln, fans of mash-ups, the undoubtably great number of you who loved PaPaZ.
