Genre: Ummm... same genre as Hellboy. Except it's not a comic.
Reason for Reading: I read a review that said it was really dark and funny. It was.

Cover: A man walking down the road. You see his feet and his shadow. The pavement is gray and cracked.
First line: "I wake up on a pile of smoldering garbage and leaves in the old Hollywood Forever cemetery behind the Paramount Studio lot on Melrose, though these last details don't come to me until later."
Best part: Funny and weird.
Worst part: I wanted the main character (I hesitate to call him a protagonist) to grow more than I feel he did.
Imaginary Theme Song: "Stayin' Alive" by John Travolta
Grade: C+
Recommended for: Anyone with a dark sense of humor that likes things blowing up.

Well, for me a B rating means that I would read a book over and over again, and a book can be quite good without my feeling that way. I grade things pretty harshly. :)
