Reason for Reading: The cover caught my attention on the "new YA" shelf.

Cover: The first "c" in the word "cycler" has male and female symbols attached to it. Behind that, there is a girl wearing boxers, a pink bra, and a heart necklace. A calendar is behind her and this month, the first is a Tuesday. The back cover shows a guy with similar facial features, wearing the same boxers and the same necklace. On each side the faces are cut off just above the nose.
First line: "I am all girl."
Best part: A really creative premise.
Worst part: A certain level of insanity on the part of the main character's parents, which unfortunately I found all too easy to believe.
Imaginary Theme Song: "Changes" by David Bowie
Grade: C+

It's not easy being a teenage girl in a small New England town with a controlling, over-protective mother. It's even harder to live with a secret. But Jill's secret has a mind of its own. She turns into a boy for four days a month (it's on the cover, I'm not giving much away here)... and the boy has his own priorities and desires. Is it safe to hide away a part of yourself and pretend it doesn't exist?
This is a really interesting book. I also found the plot and the character development engrossing. If you like YA, and don't mind a high school setting, give this book a look.
