Title: Hunter's Moon
Author: Lori Handeland
Series: Nightcreature Novels #2 (I know. That's what it's called. Obviously I wasn't consulted.)
Genre: Sexy pentacle tattoo. Werewolves. Romance.
Pages: 333
Copyright Date: 2005
Cover: Two wolves stand together, one light and one dark. What they're standing on is, I think, supposed to be rock, but it looks more like bread pudding. Over them, a bright full moon, and over that, a woman's eyes. Everything is tinted red.
First line: "They say the hunter's moon was once called the blood moon, and I know why."
Best part: The contentious but growing friendship between Leigh (this novel's heroine) and Jessi (the heroine of the previous book).
Worst part: Why yes, I DID see that plot coming a mile and a half away, thank you.
Grade: C+
Recommended for: Fans of the genre. It's good if you read the previous book already or don't plan to read it since its whole plot is explained here.
Related Reads: Blue Moon (the first book), Prince of Shadows by Susan Krinard.
