Finally, I am beginning to understand [livejournal.com profile] mrpet's fascination with Exact Audio Copy. And I am also beginning to see why it is important to put in the track titles at the very beginning, otherwise you just create a lot more work for yourself.

Fascinating.

Yes, I am still playing with my new mp3 player. The conversion program to turn m4a files to mp3 just didn't have good enough sound quality in the final product, so I am re-ripping the CDs that are important to me.

I sound just like my partner right now, don't I?

Ya know, before the age of CD's and LONG before the age of MP3 players people would buy these really, REALLY expensive record players and debate for ages about which ones give the most "realistic" sound; anyone under 30 just doesn't care, though, since music is so plentiful, cheap, and SO much more varied.
The fascination with EXACT audio copies probably harks to those days; since I AM over 30 (ahem!) I remember it well.
