kombucha charity leads to kombucha triumph?

The friendly stranger dakotakym noticed one of my many recent pickle posts, and offered to give me some kombucha brew and some babies, if I wanted. If I wanted? Oh, yes, I wanted. Oh yes. Thank-you-very-much-and-would-you-like-pickles-with-that?



So, I am now the proud owner of a kombucha baby (looks like the picture at the top) and a whole gallon of brew. Take that, Whole Foods! No longer must I pay highway robbery prices to get my fix! No longer will my brews contain wimpy SCOBY! I am also temporarily caretaking two extra bebes for veek and ceelove.



I think I'll start the new batch tomorrow. The current batch probably still has another week to go. Num num num. I guess that gallon will have to last me a week!

Awwwww. *blush* No one has ever called me a pickle genius before! Thank you so much! I learned all I know from mrpet and the book Wild Fermentation.

I hope we will have many more culture trades! I've never made canned pickles before, and I think I'd like to sometime.

I also do energywork, which sometimes makes a good trade for massage. :)
