shopping question from trouble4hire

what are your favorite things to shop for? do you like to look for certains items as bargains? Are there itmes you especially like to shop for when price isn't an issue?
(This is the first of many delightful questions from my number-one gal pal.)
My favorite things to shop for are books, clothes, and furniture. I like to buy all of the above used. Buying things used makes me feel sneaky and clever and fiscally and ecologically responsible. I also very much enjoy the opportunity to find obscure and out-of-print book titles, vintage lingerie, gorgeous homemade clothes, et cetera.
However, I am particularly inspired to look for bargains if it's something that I don't think I really need. (I am somewhat unskilled at being able to figure out what I will actually wear. A lot of times, I don't wear the stuff I bought thinking it would be "practical" because I don't like it enough, while something I thought was "frivolous" becomes a weekly wear item.)
Shopping, for me, is not usually terribly expensive, because I'm so picky and prefer things used. I can shop and not buy anything and still feel that I enjoyed myself searching for that one right thing.
Things that I especially like to shop for when money is no object are yarn and shoes. Buying those things feels frivolous to me, partly because I prefer them to be new, which is not true of my other shopping desires. Also, yarn and shoes are both categories where price does matter - midprice yarn and shoes are generally much nicer than the cheap stuff like RedHeart and Payless.
If you would like to ask me a question, please do so here. When they are listed in comments on subsequent entries it makes it harder to keep track of the order.
