snugglekitty: (yin-yang cats)

This is a sequel. For some reason the libraries in my area only have the second book. Essentially, this is a book of stories about rescued dogs. It includes pictures of the dogs with their people and a story about how each one came to be with its family.

This book is totally adorable. It made me want to run out and get an animal shelter dog right away, and I don't even like dogs, I'm a total cat person. If you like dogs, you'll love it. If you think you don't like dogs, it might change your mind. Four stars.

ETA: Right, and I also wanted to include this quote about border collies. "One owner says, 'As long as I throw the squeaky ball for her five or six thousand times each evening, she seems pretty content.'" (p 52) Ha! Some dogs just need jobs to be happy.

Oh, god. I cannot ever read this book. I already like dogs and looooove rescue stories (animal shows make me cry) and if I read this book I would probably curl up into a ball of squish and then go buy a puppy. And we do NOT have space for a puppy.

woof!

Yes, if you're trying NOT to get a dog, this is the wrong book for you. Although it would not make you buy a puppy - it would make you adopt one.
