snugglekittyThis week, two bills are being heard by the MA Senate, and I think they deserve the support of everyone who lives in MA and reads this journal. I realize that not all of you live in MA, though, so I'm putting them behind a cut.
Okay, so one bill would regulate the practice of midwifery throughout Massachusetts, making midwifery more accessible to women all over the state, by establishing a Licensing Board. Here is some more information on the bill in general:

Call your senator TODAY and ask them to support Senate Bill 1251. We need more midwives, and that means they need to be able to practice safely and with credentials.
The second bill would outlaw discrimination in MA based on gender expression or identity. Can I get a Hallelujah?? I imagine most of you understand the need for this bill a bit better, but here's a blurb: http://www.masstpc.org/legislation/
Please go to the committee hearing tomorrow or call your Representative in suppot of Bill 1722. Here is a list of other things you can do to help.
