The other day I was on my way out of the house, and thought, "Gosh, it's a little chilly, I should have worn an undershirt." Then I realized that I had worn an undershirt.

Also, this is the time of year when we are realizing that our cold-weather gear is no longer in good repair - but it feels too late to do anything about it. I know it's going to be really cold again, I don't want to get rid of my cashmere sweater just because I found a stain on it! It makes more sense somehow to just wait until next year. Doesn't it?

Trust me, if you went to buy a new pair of gloves because you had, for example, lost one, you would realize that it IS too late to do anything about it.

The losing the glove was not hypothetical but the actual going shopping for another one? I've tried that before at this time of year, I didn't waste my time.

Huh. :) I wasn't aware. I guess usually I wind up losing things and buying new ones in late January to mid February, when places are having clearance sales... I guess now is just too late.

I'm sick of winter and cold and most cold-weather clothes, too. I'm even a little tired of boots, and I like boots. If you want to replenish your winter clothes, there are still winter clearance sales going on now--it's just more hit or miss, but you can find some great deals if you're willing to poke around.
