We use userpics to represent us here on LiveJournal. These images are created, acquired and chosen to express certain aspects of ourselves. Comment and I will pick three of your userpics (if you have that many). Please tell me why you have that image in your userpic file, and what it means to you and/or why you like it.
If you pass this on, copy what you wrote about the three images that had been picked for you as well.
What
cocobuttr chose (including the pics):

1) I had this picture taken not long after I got my belly button pierced. I like the picture. I like showing off my tummy. "Love the tummy!" was the caption suggested by
mrpet, and sometimes when I use it, strangers comment in my journal that they do love my tummy. (Okay...) That was one of my first few icons.

2) I have a pair of bright red PVC Mary Janes. I bought them for work but I use them for everything. I love them so much. I made that icon in one of the rounds of avatar creation. I liked making the avatar because I was able to get so close to what I actually wear, at least some of the time. What do I use my red shoes for? Besides wearing on my feet? STOMPING!

3) I didn't make that one. I found it when I was looking for good book/reading icons, since so many of my posts are about books. Apparently the caption is a quote from a Black Sabbath song. I thought that was cool. Also, I think that fairies totally wear boots. Combat boots, probably.

Date: 2007-10-18 12:24 am (UTC)pendant: i was out on block island and this insisted that I buy it. the picture is from dinner that night because i knew it would be an icon and i knew it would be the icon for my arcana posts right away :) i haven't been wearing the pendant itself recently because it's thong broke and I need to make another one for it.
panthergrass: this was my default icon before the cartoon - these days i use it in a 'i'm feeling predatory' sorta way. :)

Date: 2007-10-18 08:13 pm (UTC)i have it almost more because it makes me smile that she made it for me than for the icon content itself.
i use it... well, about for what you'd expect from the anti-flying-monkey-angst-squad icon.
2. art by jerry uelsmann, one of my favorite artists, of a tree, which is one of my personal symbols. i also love how it is a tree, and a home, and how he does all his work on the photos themselves, (this was all done pre-digitally). i have a poster of it on my wall.
i use it sporadically, for things about art or home, but it's not strongly associated with anything in particular.
3. art by catherine mcintyre which i stumbled across one day on the internet many years ago. i love how the ribs echo the nautilus, and the colors she used.
i use it for feeling cold, alone, hungry, sad...

3)Very evocative. Haunting, even.

3) toadette

Date: 2007-10-18 05:34 pm (UTC)2. It's from the movie Monsoon Wedding. Visually it's a really beautiful movie. Alice is one of my favorite characters--she seems like a sort of simple person but at the same time she's very contemplative. The marigolds are a symbol throughout the movie as well. I thought it was a beautiful picture and I use it when I'm feeling thoughtful.
3. Toadette is a video game character. She's in Mario Kart Double Dash. She's the female counterpart of Toad, and I think they just made her up for this game because she never showed up in the Mario series previously as far as I know. She's really cute!

Date: 2007-10-18 09:00 pm (UTC)2) Yes, I've seen Monsoon Wedding as well, and remember Alice's character - that's why I asked, actually, because I wondered what it meant to you.
3) Toadette! Girl toad! Yay!
