Does anybody here order organic or at least grassfed lamb from a local place that they really love?

My tribe is interested in procuring a dressed lamb this fall, hence the question.

And yes, I am aware of this website, but it doesn't seem to have any certified organic lamb and anyway personal recommendations are always good.

I wonder if Chestnut Farms (who does the meat CSA that we're a part of) would do this for you?

Huh, maybe they would! Or maybe we could just buy lamb from them in smaller amounts. We definitely don't eat enough meat to do a meatshare (although the concept is very alluring).

I asked [livejournal.com profile] goddessfarmer (my boss who grows organic cows and pigs) what she would do and she would query the local 4H. You can get well raised lambs, sometimes organic, and make a kid feel good about hirself. She suggests Blood Farm in Groton, MA (who has no website, nor apparently, no computer!). They buy 4H lambs in the fall (harvesttime). 978-448-6669 is their number.

Yes, I had some amazing lamb last night from Chestnut Hill Farms.
I think it's chestnuthillfarms.org? It's out in western mass but their CSA delivers to the Arlington farmer's market.
