Last night [livejournal.com profile] 7j helped me find the right place, way, and equipment to plug in the new-to-us chest freezer. It started getting cold almost immediately. Whee! This morning, I started putting stuff in the chest freezer.

I have a SYSTEM, ladies and gentlemen. My idea is for ingredients for things (mostly) to go in the freezer in the kitchen. You are cooking, you grab X thing. Things that are already made (mostly) can go in the chest freezer instead. This includes ice cream, and also coffee, because [livejournal.com profile] mrpet is picky about the freshness of his coffee. It would also include coffee ice cream, if there were any in the house. Alas that there is not at this time. The chest freezer is cold inside! Yay!

However, what I discovered is that the hinge of the freezer DESPERATELY needs some WD40. I could only get it open about three times, and each time was progressively more difficult. Then, it would open no more.

Here, mostly for my reference, is a list of things that I wish to get.

- First, and most obviously, WD40, so I can get the darned thing open.
- Second, and perhaps most pleasingly, an ice tray. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, an ice tray. We have had no ice in this apartment in the last five years, except what people bring in from outside sources.
- Third, an ice bucket, to go with the ice tray.
- Fourth, ice cream. Oh, so much ice cream.
- Fifth, a new bag of frozen shrimp.

And yes, I'm going to be one of THOSE people, that has a list of the stuff that's in the chest freezer on the regular freezer.

I have WD40, extra even. We seem to have like 3 small bottles of it. If you were coming by today, I'd hand you one. But if you don't happen upon some soon, just let me know.

Thanks! That's very sweet of you. If I came by just to pick it up, would that be cool?
