As [livejournal.com profile] moominmolly once put it, certain crucial questions just HAVE to be answered. *grin*

Also, I was kind of weirded out to discover that not everybody searches for what in my opinion is the Holy Grail of Potassium - banannas with no green or brown. I wanted to find out what other people thought.

Holy Grail of Potassium

I now have the mental image of a spotlight opening up on some banannas in the grocery store, and stirring music cutting in on the loudspeaker. Laughter really must be the best medicine -- I feel better already.

I know people who search for slightly green banannas with the intention of letting them ripen a bit and become completely yellow before eating them, but that's different.

Yes. That can be good, because ones that are completely yellow are easier to bruise on the way home. But you have to plan ahead. Or buy one extra bananna that's ripe, which I've been known to do.

I used to only eat no brown no green bananas when I was a kid. I'm not sure what happened, but as I grew older, I started to prefer the ones with a bit of brown.
