I'm going to be in Atlanta next week. I'm going to have a few days where I'm on my own, and then a few days with mrpet. Anything I absolutely shouldn't miss?
Taunting locals by dropping the name Sherman...? Dunno. Possibly only if you can run away really fast.
Iced tea. The thing I love about the South in general is that if you order "tea" at a restaurant, they assume you mean iced (as opposed to here, they assume you mean hot), and they all seem to have fresh brewed as opposed to that instant pre-sweetened crap. That may have been just New Orleans, but I get the impression it was a Southern thing, and it made me love them.
Heh. That's true. It's been a really long time since I had sweet tea. I used to make it myself, Southern-style, at home. But I have abjured caffeine for quite a while now. I wonder if asking for decaf tea would get me stoned to death.
:::laughing::: The World of Coca Cola! Before it closes in April! (To re-open in a new location later.)
Probably not what you are interested in, but, oh, whenever I think of Atlanta, I remember Coke magically spurting through the air and freshly baked, powdered yummies in an underground mall and a very clean (as compared to NY) public transit system.
