series worth watching

First of all - the Merry Gentry series continues sexy with Mistral's Kiss. The whole plot thing is... getting less intense over time. Fucking new people, witnessing new magic, getting new "guards," seeing them killed... I still like it, though. It seems like maybe things are coming to a head. I would love a climax (a PLOT climax, you!) in the next volume. Three stars.
Second of all, why did I never think to read the rest of Strangers in Paradise? I read the first volume, some time ago, and it was so good. Recently I've read more - "I Dream of You," "It's a Good Life," and "Love Me Tender." Yum yum yum. "I Dream of You" was the best so far, IMO. I can't seem to get myself to take longer than a day to finish a collected volume, which... could become a problem. But anyway. It's a great series. I'm getting addicted. Five stars for IDoY, four stars for the others.
Additionally, I read Black Powder War this week - third in the Temeraire series. A very good book, though the first one still is shining and golden in my mind, and I think that it is still, in fact, the best. BPW gets three stars. I can't wait for more. Dragons and Napoleon - why didn't anyone think of that? Oh, wait...
