Someone I know slightly through a social group was recently saying she missed being on the West Coast, that no one seemed interested in firedancing. "Well," I said, "I have to put you in touch with my friends!"

Would anyone be willing to be a contact between her and local firespinners? Do you guys have a mailing list or an lj community or something?

in addition to lots of local folks-who-go-to-burning-man ("burners") there are a bunch of local firespinners. there's a yahoo mailing list called i think ne_poi; i'll dig up a contact address for you when i get home...

i always thought calling people who go to burning man "burners" was kind of a weird usage, and it took a long time for me to get used to hearing it, but i must have finally gotten used to it because i wasn't certain which you meant. :) but no problem.

this does indeed appear to be the mailing list i was thinking of. i mean, i'd be happy to talk with your friend, but that mailing list is a much better contact than i would be. :)

On tribe.net there are two groups, New England Fire Drums and Wildfire, both have a lot of local traffic. The single most well connected fire person I know would be freedomthrufire.
