So, I finished the shawl I've been crocheting today.

This one. I made it out of some pretty two-ply yarn I got cheap at Webbs. Half of it is mauve, half is eggplant. I did the border in mauve. I did a flame test after I finished the shawl, and apparently, it's cotton-wrapped wool. ([livejournal.com profile] mrpet said, "Does it smell like you lit dog hair on fire? Then it's probably wool.") I used some shiny pink Berocco Quest for accents.

The pattern was an evil stone bitch. I would never have figured it out without the help of [livejournal.com profile] cathijosephine. I am going to be posting some revisions to the crochet community, if anyone is interested in making it without quite as much pain and suffering as I experienced. I stopped when it was nineteen shells rather than the suggested 25, because at that size it was the same size as my favorite shawl, and that seemed like a good sign.

So, now I have about 130 yds of yarn left. I would really like to make a little drawstring bag to match the shawl. I had initially thought of felting it, but I just don't have the yardage. I think I'm going to need to knit it rather than crochet it for the same reason. Anyone have a good pattern for a small drawstring bag, or know where I can find one?

I will post up a picture of the shawl, along with my other finished projects. When, you ask? No idea. I seem to have a low motivation for wrestling with pictures right now. But I'll show it off if I see any of you.

It was. But I didn't want to blacken your name with the many animal lovers on my Friends list. :)

Yay!

Yours is much more pretty than the one in the picture, due to the coloration. I'm glad you got it to work the way you wanted it to, given the poor guidelines you were given.
