Cat Wanted

Our cat Pretzel needs a buddy. He was not meant to be a solitary cat. He has already gotten lonely and bored without his brother.

We will be looking for an adult cat in excellent health, starting at the end of the month. The ideal cat will not let Pretzel push him around, enjoy playtime, and love snuggling up with humans. We do not want the work of raising a kitten or trying to predict what their personality will be as an adult. We just want a sweet cat that will get along well with the one we already have.

There is Petfinder, which you can search by animal and breed type, region and age...and usually they have a picture and a description of their personality, as well as whether they get along well with other animals, or even if their ideal situation is with other animals.

Oh, and good for you for adopting an adult. Too few do.

I know about petfinder. I wish it had better search tools/people used it more appropriately. You can't specify that you want to search for a single cat (not part of a pair or trio that must be adopted together) or that you want to find a cat that's good with other cats. Yes, I know there's a icon, but you can't search it that way. And it seems a lot of the people putting up ads there don't check the box to have the icon show up. You can't even do keyword searches for stuff like "affectionate."
