I took Crystal Soldier out of the library to re-read it, prior to reading Crystal Dragon for the first time. (My copy of the former is missing. If you have it, please leave a comment.) I enjoyed it on the re-read. I enjoyed Crystal Dragon just as much, if not more so. I would give them both four stars, and that makes fifty-one books so far this year.

I also finished my perusal of The Festival of Brigit: Celtic Goddess and Holy Woman by Séamas Ó Catháin. starkeymonster was kind enough to borrow it for me from Harvard. A lovely lovely book that should definitely be read by any serious student or follower of Brigid. Since I am neither, I only skimmed it, but it was awesome - had some lovely primary sources included that I hadn't seen before. Give it a look-see if this is your thing.

You don't consider yourself a follower of Brigid even though you wear her symbol?

Honestly, no. I don't have a personal relationship with her. She is the goddess of the work that I do. I wear her symbol because it is emblematic of my work and I want to stay on her good side.

Does that make sense?
