bathtub books
Apr. 21st, 2006 02:55 pmThe kind of books that you read in the bathtub. You really do enjoy them! But, you wouldn't feel devastated if they fell in.
Mister Monday by Garth Nix was first. I had read his Sabriel trilogy, and liked it. This book was different. It had an alternate history flavor. Also, where those books were long, this one was short. I liked it, and am interested to see what he'll do with the other books. I didn't find the world as interesting, but it certainly didn't drag. Three stars.
One Good Knight by Mercedes Lackey was the latest in her new Five Kingdoms series. This series pokes fun at the traditional cliches of fairy tales. So far I've liked everything in it, and this one was no exception. I liked the characters a lot, and it didn't take itself too seriously, even though some of it was a bit predictable. Four stars for book #43.
