You know what I've been into for the past few years?
Watching TV series on DVDs.
I mean, you know, when you can't really do anything else. I would almost always rather choose to read, walk, talk to a friend, but you can't always, you know?
And it's nice. There are no commercials. If there's a cliffhanger, you can go right to the next one. Best of all, if you're feeling crappy, you can watch them for hours and hours and hours. And they're not mentally demanding.
I'm telling you, it's great.
Since
tafkar loaned me Firefly, the Avengers, and other delights, I've been really into it.
I've watched a few seasons of b5, the first season of Roswell, and most recently, the first season of Highlander. Not to mention the ever-present Buffy and Angel.
But perhaps I should expand my horizons. What's your favorite TV show of all time?

Date: 2006-01-18 11:45 pm (UTC)I really like West Wing. I've never watched a lot of TV, so I don't have much to offer. The library does have the first four seasons of West Wing on DVD, though... I've in the past been fond of Law and Order and also the now-departed Homicide.

2. Stargate SG-1. It's just basic, good, solid science fiction.
3. Blackadder, especially "Blackadder the Third". I may have *actually* wet myself from laughing, watching this one.

Date: 2006-01-19 12:26 am (UTC)Also, for pure silliness, That 70's Show has been a fave around here, and a friend turned me on to Wonderfalls.
I second Freaks & Geeks as well.
Yeah, we watch lots and lots of TV shows on DVD> Joe llikes 24 but I've never really gotten into it, despite Kiefer Sutherland in all his hotness. *shrug*

Date: 2006-01-19 04:35 pm (UTC)Also Star Trek. If we ever get married we're putting all the star trek dvds on our registry.
And Northern Exposure. I *loved* that show when it was on. I recommend just netflixing it, though, since the dvds are ridiculously expensive and come packaged in an orange parka. Oh, and the original Battlestar Galactica. And we've gotten into watching Old School cartoons on dvd lately, like He-Man and Batman and Transformers. And Futurama and Samurai Jack are awesome cartoons you can get on dvd.
This comment is longer than I thought it would be. Maybe I should get some new hobbies. Sigh.
