So, I am unable to enable Virus Scan on my laptop. It was enabled, but now it's not, and "click here to enable" isn't doing anything.

The fabulous and brilliant [livejournal.com profile] starkeymonster suggests that I need to update my virus definitions, that a virus is disabling the scan. I ran a scan but nothing came up. I tried going to the website to do this, but couldn't find the right spot. Can anyone help? I do use the automatic updates, but apparently this wouldn't be covered by that?

I was suggesting seeing if there were any stand alone programs to run. I found a list here (http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=vrt). The behavior sounds like the Klez virus which you should be protected against but it could be a new variant (you can download the removal tool from the page I linked to)

*nod* I downloaded that one, and it didn't find anything. Should I just go ahead and download all the other ones?

I'd give it a try. Other than that I got nothing.

Oh! Mak ea boot disk and scan off that.
