I have no plans today until around five, and it's really time to start a new craft project.

I finished my crocheted blanket last week. I am only about an inch from finishing the socks I'm making for [livejournal.com profile] 7j, and the Chicken Viking hat should only take a few hours to do. I want to start a project that will take me through the next few weeks at least.

I am planning to make myself some cabled wristwarmers. In addition to being pretty and keeping my hands warm, this is a practice, before I make wristwarmers for [livejournal.com profile] mrpet with much more expensive yarn. I am also trying to figure out a pattern for a vest. And, you know, [livejournal.com profile] tafkar, if you could get me your foot measurements.... Gosh, where to begin? I guess I have the pattern the most established for the wristwarmers, so that might be the best place to start. It'll be interesting to use Magic Loop for something that isn't socks. It will require some yarn treatment before I start, though. I'm doing them in two colors, lilac and charcoal, and the charcoal yarn needs to be hanked and washed before I try to work with it. (I'm planning to make myself a matching hat and scarf afterwards. I love matching winter accessories but am stingy. Frogged yarn to the rescue!)
Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm planning to make a hot water bottle cozy.

I think that I am going to save plotting my ruana of unusual size for Christmas, since Christmas makes me wrathful and designing projects is my favorite part.
