It took me a long time to get through this book. It's not long but it's very dense. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to make sure I understood the general sense, and get as much as I could out of it. So I smart-skimmed a few chapters and then dove back in when it got less oriented to the tiny details that matter mostly to historians, and more inclusive of the big picture. I liked this book very much. If you're into Gnostics, or heretics, or Christianity, I recommend it. Four stars.

As I wrote in my last post, it also very much makes me want to read "How Mary Magdalene Became a Whore." It looks like I might be able to get that at the Cambridge Library, but I need to confirm that they have that volume and that it's not in storage before I can say for sure.

So, I decided that I needed more food icons. As much as I love the iEat icon, I have been making way too many food posts to just rely on one icon. So now I have icons of fruit and quinoa and steak and pasta... yum yum. They make me hungry to look at.

As you can see, I also have a new default icon, in keeping with the Motherf*ckin Princess theme, from Devil's Panties, which [livejournal.com profile] 7j hooked me on a month or so ago.
