7j left it at my house, I thought because she knew I'd been wanting to read it. Actually, it was just an accident, but I still got to reap the benefit! Man, that book was so good. I couldn't put it down! Four stars. And there are a few really nice hooks for her to attach a third book too. Yum.
Enjoying that book so much made me realize that For a Few Demons More, by Kim Harrison, just wasn't doing it for me. This series is starting to slowly go downhill. The main character makes really dumb decisions for no especially good reason. Also, the series contradicts itself from book to book. And finally, the main character is simultaneously getting more and more power and digging herself deeper and deeper into a hole from which there is no return, neither of which I find interesting. Two stars. Usually I decide to keep reading or stop reading around the fifty page mark, but I got more than a hundred pages in before I realized that I didn't actually expect to enjoy the rest of the book. Quit while you're ahead, that's my motto.
I'm still working on all that sociall conscious nonfiction. Right now, I'm in the midst of Bodylove, Body Sacred, and That's Revolting! I want to finish at least one of the first two, since they're both library books and one of them is ILL, before I start cradle2cradle.
