Sadly, I only feel I can give this book three stars.
I liked it. I did. But I didn't think that it was the best of my favorite writing duo. It didn't have that addictive "omg, can't put it down" quality. It wasn't especially funny. It didn't have fabulous dialogue In other words, it has now replaced Carpe Diem as my least favorite Lee and Miller book.
I liked the idea of a place where people make pilgrimages to have a life-changing good time, but it wasn't delved into too far. I liked the slideboard couriers, but again, it was so brief! I liked the life rules about staying safe. (If I can remember the rules - be aware of your surroundings, be wary of anomaly, don't attract undue attention, stay in touch, shoot to kill, and choose your own path... okay, I only forgot "take as few chances as possible.")I wasn't surprised by the uncle's death at the end - I actually didn't think he'd live past the first few chapters.
Yes, of course I'll read the next one, but unfortunately I can't describe it as awesome.
