For once, a subject line that says exactly what it means!

So, a few days ago my partner found a pair of lightly used size eight men's Corcoran's on ebay. Whee!! So, he bid on them for me. I told him my top price was ninety dollars. I got them for exactly half of that, including expedited shipping so my feet can be warm. Yay!

Earlier today, I was taking a walk with [livejournal.com profile] redjo, and I saw a nifty black chair out in front of Porter Square Furniture. It is a padded swivel chair. I remarked to her about how I wished I could have a reading chair like that in my bedroom, but there just wasn't room for one. I came back, had an intense moment of inspiration and then some extended moments of furniture-moving and stuff-clearing, and discovered that, in fact, there IS room for a chair in my room. Better yet, it's in a cozy corner right next to the radiator. So rather than snuggling up for a nap with [livejournal.com profile] starkeymonster like I had promised, instead I dragged her down to the discount furniture store, where I purchased the chair for twenty-five dollars, discount included for paying cash and taking it away that day.

Now I just need someone to drive me somewhere I can rent a steam cleaner. It's not smelly, thank the goddess, but it is kind of dirty. Also, I think we have to take the door off its hinges to fit it in. But that's totally okay.

Whee, used black things!

Plus, after this time of intense brokeness, I am now in the good habit of pinching the pennies until they scream. I like it when I'm in that space.

also, yay on the reading chair. mine resided in my room when i lived at Michael's, but i don't think any amount of shuffling could make it fit here. it's on the list for needs at the next place :)

i don't think upholstery cleaner is quite the thing in this case. it's not that it needs to be washed, it's that it has dirt on it, not dirt in it, if you know what i mean. if someone offered to loan me a dustbuster, on the other hand...
but, my roomate is going to take me later today, so it's all good.
