1. books:
   I have loved books since I was a small child. Books are a wonderful way to experience things you've never experienced, see the world through someone else's eyes, or just get away. I read about one every two days. I love sci fi, mystery, relevant non-fiction. Read all about it by clicking the "books 2005" or "books" tags.
2. crochet:
   catskillz taught me to crochet last year when I was unwell. Crochet is great because it's very hard to drop stitches and it's easy to do openwork, which in knitting is kind of a pain. It's also easy to do small projects.
3. fairy tales:
   It's hard for me to even articulate my feelings about fairy tales, but I guess what I'll say is that they have a different kind of logic to them, a logic that I feel often operates in our lives, whether we admit it or not.
4. ganesha:
   Ganesha is a Hindu deity. He is known as the remover of obstacles and the god of scholars. He's one of the few male deities I feel I can relate to.
5. homeschooling:
   Public education has a lot of problems, despite the best efforts of many giving and talented public school teachers. Private school is out of reach unless you're pretty wealthy. Why not teach your children yourself, and know that they're learning what they want to learn?
6. lucid dreaming:
   Lucid dreaming is being conscious inside your dreams. If you're interested, read something by Stephen LaBerge. He's great. I have dreamed lucidly on a number of occaisions since I started reading his books.
7. paganism:
   I'm a pagan, I've been a pagan for a long time, and you all know what that means, right?
   Basically I worship a Goddess, work magick, and believe that sex is holy. That's the condensed version.
8. reading aloud:
   People often don't trouble to read aloud anymore, and I think that's a shame. I love to read aloud dramatically. I think that it is a special way to share something that's important to you with other people. Even if they don't respond to the piece the same way that you do, they will respond to the way that you read it.
9. soup:
   I love to eat soup and I love to make soup. It's good in any season and can usually be made from whatever you have on hand. Yay, soup! A soup and a salad, or a soup and a sandwich, is pretty much a perfect lunch as far as I'm concerned. mrpet sometimes calls me the Soup Goddess.
10. trees:
    And we end with something else I have loved since I was small. I used to love to climb trees. I haven't tried that in a while, since my knees are cranky. But I still love to touch trees, to feel their energy, slow and old and peaceful.
