oh, the many viruses

snugglekittySo far, the total number of viruses/infected files/whatever found and deleted on my computer is eleven.
The wonder isn't that it was having problems. The wonder is that it was working at all. I noticed a speedup even after the first four viruses were found, by Spybot. I'm currently installing the free trial of a third virus scan product. Obviously, this is the time to invest in antivirus software. Thankfully, it seems that I caught it before it was too late. *sigh*
Anyway, I appreciate everybody's help. And I think I'm going to uninstall weatherbug in favor of creating a link to some weather website that I can check regularly. I suspect![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mrpet was right in his assessment that some of this unpleasantness comes from them.
In other computer health news, we have established that the battery on my laptop does charge, and will hold a charge for several hours once unplugged. So things are looking good.
