So, this month's Glamour includes an article called "Thirty Things Every Woman Should Have and Know By Age 30." (Take a look.)
A lot of them I agree with. Most of them I feel I do have or know. But there are some things I think are missing from this list.
I think that by age 30, every woman should know how to travel alone.
By age 30, every woman should know how to enjoy herself in bed.
By age 30, every woman should have at least one pair of shoes that are both attractive AND comfortable.
By age 30, every woman should have a primary medical provider that she feels comfortable with.
What would you add?
(Comments about what men should do and know by age 30 are also welcome.)
What do you wish you had or knew that you don't yet?

I would add that you need to know:
* That part of being able to give of yourself is to have a very strong sense of self.
* How to graciously accept compliments, criticism and gifts.
* How to sew on a button, hem a pair of pants, make at least two dinners from scratch, change your cars oil, and use a fire extinguisher.

Date: 2005-08-31 05:38 pm (UTC)A lot of people get wrapped up in the idea that love is sacrifice and that selflessness is the ultimate virtue. But in order to truly love someone and for that to mean anything, you have to have a certain amount of self-love and self-respect in my mind. The same is true for charity. Only those who are taking care of themselves can give to others.
