So, I'm starting the Tiger Swallowtail Shawl.

One of the stitches in the pattern says, "sl2-p10p2sso: vertical double decrease; insert needle into the 2nd and 1st stitches as if to p2tog-b, and slip both stitches at once from this position; purl next stitch, then pass the 2 slipped stitches together over the purl stitch."

I'm good until the "pass the 2 slipped stitches together over the purl stitch." Can someone explain? Is this somehow like what you do with a slip, slip, knit?

I think it is more like when you bind off and you knit a stitch and then pass one over it.

So as I see it. You basically insert the left needle into the two slipped stitches, lift them over the purl stitch and then let them drop so they are choking the purl stitch.

Ah, okay.

Perhaps it's obvious, but I meant to post this to [livejournal.com profile] knitting.

So, I know nothing about knitting, but I had to say 'Wow' to the shawl.

Thanks! Not sure you'd say "wow" to my version though. *wry smile*
