I have decided that I want to spend more time taking walks.

Last summer, things were unpleasant in many ways, but I was taking a long walk every day, and that felt good. I'd like to start doing that again. I have a lot of "incidental" walking, but I want to walk for at least forty minutes "on purpose" every day.

I had originally thought I would get up early and do this, but with the weather what it is, I'm enjoying walking after the sun goes down. Luckily, with where I live, there are a lot of safe places to do that. Also, mornings are my time to do my thing, and I don't want to lose that. I'm often much more uncertain about what to do when it's late at night and I'm not busy. Also, I've been having a hard time falling asleep at night, which makes it difficult to get up early.

So, I think that my new plan involves a walk after dinner, or on my way home from a date. At least till it gets cooler, then I'll be in a better position to enjoy daytime walks (and hopefully be sleeping better too).

Enjoy the walking.

For a while when I was in Florida (possibly home from college for a few weeks, possibly the summer before college) I tried taking a regularly-scheduled bike ride around our large neighborhood. I tried after dinner but it was wiltingly hot. My mom mentioned that it's cooler in the early morning. I tried it one day, and not only was it cooler, but I saw a bunch of other people power-walking and all that. In FL, it's evidently smarter to go before the heat of the day starts building up.

sounds like a good resolution. I'll be living closer to you pretty soon, and would love to get together for a walk, if you feel like having a walk-buddy sometime. I need the exercise/fresh air and plus, you're fun. :-)

That sounds nice. :) I prefer walking with a person because you can talk and walk, and have someone to point things out to.

Right now my favorite walk is to Spy Pond and back, about two hours in total. I need more people who are willing to do that with me, my sweeties are mostly not big walkers. :)

Do you still have daytime time?

I've never been to Spy Pond! That's sad. Must fix that. :)

I don't have daytime time, really, but I do get home from work these days around 4:30. A nice long walk would probably end my day on the right foot. Hah...right foot...

I need to do the same thing so I don't lose functionality. Pity we don't live closer or we could do it together. :D

*nod* Actually, I very frequently meditate while I'm walking. That was my daily practice for a long time. But this is a version I haven't tried.
Thanks for sharing.
