too cranky to live
Jul. 6th, 2005 01:55 pmOkay, I'm starting the Too Cranky To Live Club. Who wants to join?
In addition to members, we are also accepting supplicants, who can bring us drinks, fix our laptops, and update our resumes.
Speaking of which -
Dear LJ Genie,
My laptop's mouse seems to be frozen. I have restarted it several times. I'm not sure what else to do, and being unable to move the mouse, and unable to remember the commands to select icons and open menus, I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?
Also, I need to import a picture into a word document. Any tips on that?
Hugs and Kisses,
Honey

I fear my quallifications may be lacking. Might one join if their only ailment is a broken heart?
sincerely,

Date: 2005-07-06 06:16 pm (UTC)In word, you can choose "picture" from the insert menu, then choose what type of picture you want to insert. I believe you can also have a picture in another program, such as internet explorer, and right click to copy, then paste in word.

Re: Reliving my past life as a computer tech
Date: 2005-07-06 06:32 pm (UTC)If you have a mouse lying around that can connect to your laptop (usb connector, or your laptop has an older mouse hook-up) try turning the computer off, plugging in the mouse, then turning it back on.
Worst comes to worst, your friends this weekend can try to out-nerd each other in your service.

Date: 2005-07-06 07:16 pm (UTC)I have turned it off, left it alone for a bit, and restarted it.
I tried the mouse alternate, but apparently it wasn't The Thing. It still didn't work.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
