So, I am moving. Much of what I have now is not going to fit in my new place, which means I need a few new-to-me things to get by.

First off, I need a full-sized mattress and box spring. This would make my life so much easier it's almost hard to express. For it, I could trade a queen-sized mattress and box spring, or anything in the next paragraph. Do you have one you don't need? Do you know where one free of bedbugs could be found?*

Second, I need a skinny bookcase. Most of my books will be going in storage or going away but I need a small case for the ones I am taking with me. Maybe something like two or three feet wide, five or six feet tall? I could trade for it a punching bag, a good quality featherbed, a reading chair, a pet carrier, or a lovely Ikea table.

Third, I need boxes. Did you move recently? Did your friend? Please let me know and I will take away that pile of boxes for you.

I have sent bookcases and beds out into the community before, I hope I will be lucky enough to have the karma come back when I need it most. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks friends.

*No, we don't have bedbugs. I'm just terrified of getting them.

My mom is the Queen of Bookcases... I checked with her and she doesn't have any extras right now but I put her on the lookout. She has amazing luck with furniture and thrift stores.

Have you tried FreeCycle? I've had great luck there in the past.

Also if you have no takers for the punching bag in a barter situation, I might be interested in finding a way to buy it for my nephew. He is 15, autistic, and has serious anger issues. He's been getting very physical with my mom and I worry about both of them. I am hoping that if he has something else physical to hit that he might stop hitting her. I acquired one of those blow-up ones that sit on the floor but it's too wimpy for him. Not even sure if the one you have would work, but it's worth a shot.

So if mom finds a bookcase I will text you to see if you still need it before she gets it.

Good luck with the move!!!

JJ :-)

*hugs* The bakery at Shaw's goes through several shopping carts full of boxes everyday. They're usually more than willing to give them away as it means they don't have to haul them to the box compactor. I'll let you know if I come across any of the other things you need.

Thank you! That's wonderful. Can I come pick them up this Sunday morning?

Sure - I'll have them all stacked inside the garage side door.
