Rogue Angel: Destiny by Alex Archer
May. 18th, 2009 01:16 pmTitle: Density! I mean Destiny. Really.
Author: Alex Archer
Series: Rogue Angel
Genre: Paranormal, adventure, girls kicking butt.
Pages: 346
Copyright Date: 2006
Cover: A woman holds a sword. The angle of the picture makes it look like she only has one arm. The Eiffel Tower is in the background, along with an odd pattern of yellow and black stripes that look like highway division lines except that they are radiating out from half of the woman's head. Only half.
First line: "Out of breath, feeling as though the hounds of Hell pursued him, Roux whipped his horse mercilessly."
Best part: The heroine, Annja, does kick some butt.
Worst part: She's also kind of, well, dumb.
Grade: C-
Recommended for: Those wanting an uncomplicated diverting read.
Related Reads: I'm reluctant to compare this to books I like. But maybe The Eight by Katherine Neville, though it's nowhere near as complex or engrossing.
