From Rags to Riches to Rags

In my dream last night, I was not in the starring role. A woman (blond and young like me) was moving through her life. She started out very poor, then became a dancer and attracted the attention of a guy whose family ran a chain of ethnic restaurants. She used all of her wiles and he married her. Several years later, though, she had a daughter and had had to sell off most of her clothes and luxuries to pay for expenses. She started to teach dance classes to pay her way. Her husband's attention had turned to another, younger woman. Her in-laws were telling her she had to move out, and she was saying that she had nothing. She showed them her few remaining garments, hanging on a coat rack. "This is all I have left!" Her daughter contributed to the situation by leaving copious quantities of black and silver poop everywhere, the texture of leather. I was observing all of this as the butler (male), feeling a mild sense of pity for her. It took place in New York city.
