For starters, I wanted to mention that I bought and am now reading Tristan Taormino's new book on open relationships, Opening Up. Nobody that I know seems to have read this book yet and I was dying to know how it was and the library didn't have it. So, I bought the bullet - I don't usually buy books new unless I've already read them and determined them to be awesome - and picked it up at Porter Square Books. [livejournal.com profile] mrpet is already next on the list to read it, then it will go to other tribal members and roommates if they want to give it a shot, and then I will lend it to whoever.

The other thing, which I was just mentioning to [livejournal.com profile] jenaflynn, is that I'm not sure how to handle the division of my books between paperbackswap.com and the in-person bookswap. I have all these books hanging around. Like, fifty, or maybe even more. Do I put all fifty in the pile at the bookswap? Do I save some for the website? Which ones? Argh. Decisions, decisions. If I unlist the books, then I will lose my place in line for those copies to go out... and if no one picks them up at the swap I will have to relist them and start over. Argh.

I haven't decided what to do about this yet.

Here's what I'd do. If they're already listed on PBS, keep them there... Then have them available-ish for the swap, i.e. ... "here are the ones I thought were most pertinent to this crowd, plus I have... blah blah blah blah in the back." Then unlist whatever gets taken. :)

I would so be there but I doubt I could get into your place... plus I have court the 15th so i am gonna be a freaking emotional wreck leading up to it... (Unless she skips out, I'll be seeing the bitch who stole my credit card and making a recommendation to the judge about her sentencing. And... meh.)

EDIT: When you're ready to pass Opening Up around, will you post here? :)

I am VERY interested to hear your typical incisive commentary on the book! A lot of the reviews I've read have been waaaay fangirly, and while I like and respect Tristan Taormino, I look forward to hearing a good old-fashioned review.

You mentioned this earlier.. Hopefully I can be on the chain of borrowing that book at some point. :)

You are including in the "tribal people and roommates" category. :) Sure, you can borrow the book after I and [livejournal.com profile] mrpet finish reaidng it.

Ooh, baby, I love it when you praise my posts with big words. :) I am halfway through the book now. I like it, AND I promise my review will not be fangirly!

I'm not sure I have. Do you not use the name I know you by?

I feel slightly weirded out that I wasn't interviewed for this book, even though there's no especially good reason I should have been. I'm just used to people I know writing books about my lifestyle, which then I wind up being a contributor for...

That's a good point. I think I will just put the PBS books in a pile and say, "Please keep these books together unless you are taking some home!" or something.

Sadly, it is true. Our house is not even REMOTELY accessible. Those who have even minor mobility issues (like trouble climbing stairs) have trouble getting in. I hope your court date goes well though...
