Thanks for the links, I'm glad to better understand your position.

Since my current default icon includes the word fuck, and I don't only use it on filtered posts, I feel it's reasonable to say that my journal has adult content with the tools the system gives me to do so. (I also put a rating on my userinfo page, years back. Same kinda thing, imo.) I don't think that this is a perfect system, by any stretch, but I find it more useful than objectionable at this point. My experience with other websites is that having a system that allows you to mark some content as adult, and therefore restricted, means that adult content can continue to exist on that site, and I support that trend. I won't be offended if you unFriend me on principle, but I hope you won't find that necessary. :)
