Wishful Calendar Syndrome

This week I have fallen prey to the dreaded WCS. I have answered all the inquiries about my time, not based on when I was actually free, but when it would have been NICE to be free.

I feel bad about this. I think that I need to a) spend more time looking at my actual calendar and b) schedule less stuff.

I did a Bad Thing recently while answering a time inquiry while in the car no where near my calendar. No good.

So far I have discovered no less than three double-bookings of my calendar this week. It's very distressing. Trying to balance the firmness of the commitment, with how important the commitment is (ie, work, social, other?) and with how many times I have recently had to reschedule with that person/institution, in order to decide which commitments can be kept and which I need to apologize for and try to reschedule... it's enough to make my head spin. And also enough to make me feel pretty embarassed and guilty.
