This is exactly the sort of thing we need more of. I think it's really really wonderful that for once, an authority is not being stupid about gender.

I can imagine that the situation would be the opposite down here, though. I can't see the backwards state that I live in being as rational and affirming as the Methuen folks.

That's really awesome. I'm also impressed with the parents, who have had to change their own expectations to raise their child in the way that will be best for him. It's very interesting to me that he was so clear in his identity as young as 2; that's a very strong person and I hope he'll be an advocate for this issue, once he's a bit older.
