I am in deep, deep lust with these boots.

Could someone please tell me that I should not spend part of a windfall on them? I'm having difficulty resisting their siren call. As of yet, I have not found anything that's similar but cheaper - the closest things I've found are these, which are still not really in my budget, and these, which are affordable, but a different animal entirely.

What I like about the fabulous ones - low heel (tall heels make my feet hurt), burgundy (so it goes with everything), feminine detailing, laces.

you should not spend money on them. it doesn't seem to fit in with getting things you need or adding to savings...

I can only see the lusty boots; the other two links are loading too slowly to tolerate. Maybe it's a sign. :)

I would suggest perhaps putting a little money aside per month/week and getting them around Solstice. Boots are practical- it gets to be winter where you are, and soggy socks = no fun, plus it's better to buy comfortable and expensive boots instead of cheap and less comfortable ones.

That's not a bad idea. Heck, I could put all of the money aside now and decide then whether it was really that important to me to have them.

Like, when I have things I really want, I either put aside a percentage of what I get in, or, if my income is more reliable, I put aside a certain amount, like $20 per check or something. Then, as it gets closer, I can decide to go for it slowly, still saving it up, or after I have half saved, pay the other half upfront. Less strain that way. :)

I've got nothing useful to add here, except that they're gorgeous boots, and I wish they came in my size.
