take THAT, demons of winter!

I am making this post on my laptop. From a blanket in my backyard. Barefoot, wearing a T-shirt. Wearing pants even feels like it's too much.

Ha!

What a gorgeous day.

PS - Any suggestions on how to make my screen brighter? I can barely read it, because it is SUNNY!

ETA - I had to move into the shade. It's too hot in the sun! *bounces gleefully in her capris, just brought up from the basement*

I had to give up and take the laptop inside because I couldn't read it. I had a camp chair set up to shade the computer but not me for a while, and that almost worked.

Without a transflective display the sun will swamp out the picture. No amount of LED brightness can contend with the power of the SUN!

Well, sure, but how do I make it a bit brighter?

There should be a series of icons on the top row of keys. There is a Fn button (usually lower left) that when pressed in conjunction with the icon for brightness up/down will adjust it. It's been a while since I looked at the Dell laptop's keyboard. Other icons include volume and external monitor enable.

On my Dell laptop, holding down the Fn key while pressing the up arrow will make the screen brighter. Caveat: making the screen brighter runs down the battery a lot faster.
