From the moment I saw the title of this book, I knew I had to read it. I mean, how could you not be charmed by that name? And yes, the author admits she got it from Monty Python, which makes it even better.
This book is the story of two old cheese guys, their farm in Ireland, and their modern-day quest to find successors in the business of cheesemaking. It is also the story of their granddaughter, a little-known Pacific island, The Sound of Music, and a hard-drinking stockbroker. Best of all, it is the story of cheese. If you have ever wondered how cheese is made, this quick read is a sweet and funny way to find out. It made me laugh and want some cheese. The book also includes enough darkness to keep it from being cloying, and a reader's guide in the back. Four stars. Take it with you on your next plane trip.
