7j and
teratomarty had requested two Yak trips to places that it's inconvenient to get to via public transit. (The Yak is our SUV. And if you know
mrpet you don't need to ask why we need an SUV when we live in the city.) One trip was to Angell Memorial, the other to Ikea.
mrpet advocated for the latter on the basis that it would be "less dangerous." "Yes," I said, "because unexpectedly winding up with a new bedroom set is less problematic than unexpectedly winding up with a new puppy." So we planned our trip.

Ikea is a dangerous place.
I know that some of you were waiting for rest of the Christopher Moore quote I used in the subject line. Somehow I restrained myself from using it while we were at Ikea or en route, mostly because my tribe has heard it so many times before, but here it is in all its glory:
"No one knows why, but second only to feasting on the brains of the living, the dead love affordable prefab furniture."
The next time we go, maybe we'll dress as Vikings or zombies.
