So, Arisia. Arisia was fun. "Why didn't I see you?" you're thinking? Well, I attended exactly one official Arisia thing, a cool panel on postcolonial sci fi, and no one I knew was there except my lovely girlfriend, who I had pointed it out to. I am still needing my people-time to be in small doses, so I was alternating between brief periods of socialness and brief periods being quiet in my room. It was very helpful that I was getting excellent service all weekend.

At Arisia, I also got a monster bag. (Rar!) I am very pleased with my one purchase of the weekend. I will try to take a picture of the bag sometime soon, so you all know what I'm talking about.

Yesterday morning I watched the night become day and then decided I had had enough. After dinner and a bit of party-ness on Saturday I was unable to either sleep or do anything fun, and that was lame. After the entire night of not sleeping I realized that I really just wanted to go home. So, I had my sub pack up my stuff and we went home. The trains were still running, happily, and we got back to Somerville without incident. Slogging through the snow was actually kind of fun.

For the rest of the day, [livejournal.com profile] bryghtrose, [livejournal.com profile] michellemybell, and I stayed in and watched movies. I cooked us all dinner. It was really nice. We watched "Calendar Girls," a really cute British comedy, and "A Short Film About John Bolton," by Neil Gaiman. Both were really good. If any other Gaiman fans out there haven't heard of this movie (I hadn't before I saw it in the store), you should really take a look. It was funny and creepy and very Gaiman.

I have also been watching Babylon 5 recently. I forgot how awesome that show was. I'm really enjoying watching the early seasons. I'll probably stop when I stopped watching it in rl, when Claudia Christianson left. Ivanova was my favorite character.

Today [livejournal.com profile] michellemybell and I spent a quiet day together. We read to each other, and cuddled. It was lovely. Also, my new navel jewelry came. Very attractive. I'll take a picture of that, too, when I get a chance.
